Welcome to the Ringawera Baker

Matakana Village welcomed another artisan producer into the fold, with the opening of Ringawera Baker earlier this year.

Matakana Coffee Roasters were the trailblazers, roasting their beans onsite, with both Honest Chocolat and Matakana Deli following a little over 18 months ago. Now we’re lucky to have another expert producer creating fresh, handmade bread right in the heart of Matakana Village. Think fresh-baked focaccia… mouthwatering pastries… and delectable brioche!

Ringawera – a figurative term for people who work in the kitchen and their hot hands from the fires and ovens, will be open every day 7 am – 4 pm. Patrick is baking onsite from scratch using quality ingredients with no additives or preservatives and organic where possible. Visitors will be able to see and smell the bread arriving hot out of the oven with an open kitchen visible from the front of the store. You will be spoilt for choice with a wide range of bread on offer – sourdough, ciabatta, baguettes, focaccia, rewena, mixed grain, and organic rye sourdough just to name a few! If you’re after something to eat on the spot, choose from the fresh focaccias & paninis filled with deli meats and cheeses, salads, pickles & relishes. And of course let’s not forget the Ozone coffee, pastries, croissants and brioche!
