Matakana Market Kitchen is not just a name, it is an insight into our style & feeling on the ingredients & produce that we use. Here at MMK, we endeavor to use only the freshest ingredients, including herbs from our very own herb gardens, as well as Produce from many of our local suppliers.
We have several varying dining options in the restaurant; including a Market Table which can seat up to 18 people around it, Riverside terrace seating that offers a tranquil break; High-Top tables perfect for a pre-cinema drink, afternoon snack, or post-cinema dessert; & plenty of Restaurant tables available for a both a quiet dinner or special occasion.
Every week, Bob & the team look at the availability of the freshest produce & develop a “Specials” board to ensure the dishes are well-balanced, maintaining a market feel in keeping with the homely style of the restaurant.
As a fully licensed restaurant, MMK does not offer the BYOW option. We support the local winemakers, & have a great number of quality local wines on the list, and also sell local Matakana Wines by the bottle. With local wines from Brick Bay, Takatu, Herons Flight, Omaha Bay Vineyard and many more, there is plenty to experience from Matakana’s beautiful wine growing region.
