The Vintry

The Vintry in Matakana is a place where wine is sold.

Our next winegrower visitor is on the 26th of April and is Lindsey-Ann Taylor from Contour Estate with her 2008 Syrah.  She will be here Thursday, Fri and Saturday 5pm -8pm to meet, greet and offer complimentary tastings.  Also, purchase a glass of their wine during the week to go into the draw to win a limited edition of three consecutive vintages of their stunning Syrah wines from 07, 08 and 09.
Ransom’s 2009 “Clos de Valerie” Pinot Gris is a long time favourite amongst the locals.   This wine is a pale straw in colour, with a delicate perfumed nose with hints of honeysuckle and ginger. The palate is fresh & lively with a nutty sweetness, a trace of pineapple & a crisp, minerally finish. It complements a range of cuisines, both Asian and European, particularly seafood.
This week’s special offer:
Order a bottle of “Close de Valerie” Pinot Gris to share with a friend or three on our sun drenched deck and receive a complimentary tasting platter to enjoy with your wine.

The Vintry Wine Shop

From 10.00 am to 5 pm daily we offer a comparative horizontal tastings of five wines from five different winegrowers – a great way to while away the noon with your friends.

The Vintry is not just any place, and nor do we don’t sell just any old wine. The wines we proudly sell are available in any quantity you could desire. We are proud to announce that all of the wines sold at the Vintry are wines that have been grown from grapes in the Matakana geographical area.

Situated in the stunning new Matakana Village Complex, just an hour away from Auckland, are alwaysopen daily from 10am to 10pm.

The Vintry is designed for informal, relaxing wine consumption and retail. Our bar is decorated with used barrel staves, and our tables are made of rough-sawn rimu beams sourced from an old shearing shed. The floor is concrete and we have a real wood fire to warm the space in the cooler months.

We aim to be real casual and cosy!
