Leadlight

Designed by Noel Lane & crafted by Stefanie Mann Glass

The windows were designed by Noel Lane and crafted by local glass artisan Stefanie Mann. As all the leadlight windows were drawn full-size, working drawings had to be drawn several times to get the detail exactly right. The panels use a mix of textured, white and coloured glass.

The windows in the cinema draw on a Pacific Islands’ culture, using a stylised tuvaevae (traditional quilting) flower as a recurring motif within textured white glass, while other panels throughout the buildings reference historical glasswork.
